Marcos Arcentales is the founding member of Kanatan Aski; World Beat and Native fusion band that introduced a new level of musical sound with its debut CD “Condor Meets the Eagle” (Juno Nomination 1994). Andean Colours and Andean Universe soon followed.
Marcos has traveled throughout Canada and the Americas as a musician and composer working as a key collaborator with a number of leading Native artists. He has performed Tusarnituqa festival of Words, Music and Images, the Awasis Aboriginal Education Conference, interviewed on APTN and major contributor to the UBC study on Andean and Native music “Trans-cultural Traditions & Identity”. Marcos is also a talented graphic artist, designing CD covers and handmade crafts for his family owned company Tierra Sol Crafts.
Indigenous World Music Project has been in development for the past decade. Marcos is the producer, composer and musician (Charango, panpipes, guitar). The CD is in the final stages of completion that will bring together Native peoples from all of the Americas with a new style of contemporary Native music.
